Letters We Receive
Thank you to all those people who have acknowledged their
appreciation of the work of our nurses and other staff. These
quote are taken from a selection of letters we have received
over the last few weeks.
'Having recently
completed one year since leaving hospital after receiving
chemotherapy and radiotherapy for my cancer, I write
in appreciation of the marvellous way your nurse attended
and advised me and helped me cope through
what was
a difficult time for me. She
showed great understanding and sympathy for my various problems
and was most helpful
in overcoming them, not least helping me with the medications.
Now
that I have been discharged from her care I would like to say
a very big thank you to her and to Dorset CancerCare for
the great work you are doing'.
From a patient.
'I
would like to thank you for making things so
much less fraught over the last few months.....
With
all my best wishes to all the fantastic people
at CancerCare
Dorset ..'
From
a patient's relative.
'Well,
time has passed and I have been trying to write
a few lines to thank you for the care and understanding
you gave to Mum during the time she has known you.
I have found it very difficult, as I do not
think just to say 'thank you' would enable
you to fully appreciate the comfort and reassurance
you gave both Mum and also the three of us
on your visits.......
You took the time to talk to Mum,
we all knew she understood what was happening but
she needed to talk things
through. You were kind enough to give her the opportunity
to do this with someone she knew not only as
a friend but also a professional who could guide
her through her medical needs. And what a difference
it made to her....'
From
a patient's daughter
'Just
a quick line to say thank you so much for sorting
everything out like that today.I was at my
wits end, and really rather frightened by it all.
Now, thank God, Mummy seems 100% better and
able to sleep normally and smile again! No we're
not expecting
miracles but it has been such a relief - however
short term.'
From
a patient's daughter.
